So, I will be taught how to breathe? Even mums don’t teach their babies how to breathe!

You will learn a rhythmic breathing technique known as Sudarshan Kriya Yoga (SKY). Leading institutions such as Stanford and Harvard have found the SKY breathing technique to be highly effective in calming the mind, reducing stress, increase focus and much more.”

My practical and logical mind was still very doubtful about the celebrated wonders that a simple function like breathing can have on people. And so I passed yet another opportunity to learn the SKY breathing technique, and continued to live my chaotic life the best I knew how.

Until, one day I was gifted the workshop by a dear one and me being me, I was too polite to refuse. Well, I accepted with a skeptical mind, but had decided to give the program a fair chance and so I participated in it fully.

What I experienced with the SKY breath for the first time I cannot truly put into words, there was an immediate lightness like a major detox of thoughts and worries. But it was what followed after, with regular practice of the breathing technique and meditations that I can indeed look back and say “I have evolved.”

Life will always be an uphill struggle, but at the same time I experience awareness, balance and less anger, even fear. Living with more contentment, lightness, confidence I easily connect to others which is great as my work is to serve people 😊

I had heard the practice of breathing techniques and meditation can nurture creativity and to my pleasant surprise that’s just what happened to me. Very soon after an advance Silence & Breath program I suddenly started writing poetry, was happy to discover that talent can blossom at any age.

Many of these changes were only apparent when I looked back over the years, but I’m glad I accepted the gift and took the first step of learning the SKY breathing technique.

I practise the technique daily at home and there are free weekly group follow up sessions so I always feel part of an amazing Art of Living community.

I have been practicing SKY for very many years.
The benefits are palpable
We do a lot of shallow breathing
SKY helps me be aware, my body appreciates the oxygen, helps me sleep better. Can be done anytime. Even when traveling.
